4-27-2016 Trevor's last show of the season

Our friend Trevor, the bassist, is set to leave soon for several months, so we caught the last show of Zero Tolerance at
Windschief Beach Bar. There were several guest appearances, and it was a great show as always.

At the end of the evening others messed around playing a little.  Elsa (in the pink shirt), who works at the bar, and her friend
drummed for a couple of songs and did a nice job.

4-25-2016 Eric's Adventure Monday

Our friend Trevor needed motorcycles to reach his property, which he wanted to check out, so he got bikes from our friend
Emma (pictured here).  Eric was invited to go along, and he was game since it was supposed to be a half day trip.  Lol, this is
Belize so he should have known better.  They left at 8 am and didn't get back until 4 pm.

They never actually made it to Trevor's property because new construction and farming has changed access to it.  Everyone
had fun though, exploring river beds, hacking trails through the jungle, and getting turned around.

River crossings are always fun too!

4-22-2016 Friends' Anniversary

Our friends Pam and Oli (both working behind the bar here) are the owners of Windschief Beach Bar, and their 10th
Anniversary happened to be on a Friday night (the party night at the bar).  They both worked, but had plenty of fun as well.
Here Pam is pouring champagne for the patrons.  Happy Anniversary Pam & Oli!!!

Many of our other friends were there to celebrate - even Christopher, who loves hanging out with Eric.

4-10-2016 Day of Sailing

We went out for a ride on Brujula Sailing  Their website is at http://brujulasailing.com/

Brian and Regina own the Boat and along for the ride was the guide Mathew and his son Chris along with Eric and Cara, and Jake and Nichole.

We left at about 9 in the morning and we got back at 5:45 or so.

I did a virtual tour of Bread and Butter Caye

The guide Mathew
We motor down the river and then sail over about 5 miles to the island

Regina pulls in the sail as we get to Bread and Butter Caye
http://www.hgltours.com catches fish in the morning and cooks them for you.  They go out by powerboat.

There is very good snorkeling on Bread and Butter caye

They don't show up in the picture, but there are thousands of tiny fish everywhere

That is the sailboat we went out on

Chris caught a 13 lb. Cobia

It was a really nice ride home

Jake and Nichole were people we just met on the trip.  They are vacationing in Hopkins.

the sunset looked better in real life, it was very orange

4-7-2016 Big Barbecue

A lot went on, but I don't have a lot of pictures to show for it.  We threw an old fashioned neighborhood barbecue and over 20 people showed up.
We had 2 full grills worth of food.  That is kabobs on the outside and grilled veggies on the inside

In the middle is Sherwin and on the outside is Dean and Janine.  All are neighbors.

4-4-2016 Hung out with the new neighbors

Dean and Janine are in the process of building a house next door in Hopkins.  We decided to go out for dinner at Geckos Restaurant.
These are in Belize dollars 1 american dollar = 2 belizean dollars

You will never get a clear shot of Christopher because he is always in motion

After dinner everybody headed back to the Bamboo bar for a nightcap

4-1-2016 Last day at Caye Caulker

Finally the day arrived that our friends had to leave.  They needed to Fly out from Belize City at 3:30 in the afternoon.  That left us plenty of time to enjoy a great day!

Catching up on our devices

Stop by the Belize Sign for a quick picture

There is a caretaker at the sign.  His wife and kids hang out there with him and he sells jewelry, and he helps get a nice picture.  We always buy something from him.  You really cant take no for an answer with this guy.  He even gets his little 3 year old to come and take part in the sales job.

A friend mentioned Manatee Lookout as a good place for our last meal.  It had a nice overlook of the river

This is the same river that we stayed at on our first night

Mark needed a beer to prepare him for his long flight. Zora needed a bite from her water bottle for the same reason.

...and we are back to where we started on this last 5 days....the Airport.  So long Wilchers! See ya next time!
