5-1 to 5-31-2018 May Highlights in Indiana

Throughout May - Visits with Eric's Family

Anytime we were in southern Indiana working with a client, we would make a trip to see Eric's mother, youngest brother and his family.

Well, not entirely...

Our nephew carves a watermelon by cutting off the rind so it's a sphere of watermelon.

 

Then he starts cutting slices. It worked, so who are we to say anything.

We got to see one of our nephew's baseball games, and they won!

May 13, 2018 - Mother's Day Cookout with Cara's Family

 

Cara's brother, Kirk, tended the grill.

After lunch it was time for photos.

 

Much of Tammy's (Kirk's wife) family was there also.

 May 28, 2018 - Open House for a friend's daughter

Our friend's daughter just graduated from college and had joined the Peace Corps. She left for Benin in Africa on a 27-month assignment the following week. Everyone couldn't be prouder!

May 29, 2018 - Exploring Elkhart, Indiana

While in northern Indiana working with a client, we did take some time to walk around Elkhart.

 

May 30, 2018 - Visiting a friend

Still in northern Indiana, we met a friend for sushi dinner and conversation.

Saturday, April 7, 2018 - Night of Music and Dance

We went to Queen Bean for dinner, and happened upon a performance from some visiting music and dance groups.

   

 

 

After that we went to Luba Laruga to watch our friend's band play.

 

Tuesday, April 17, 2018 - We returned to the U.S.

Goodbye for now, Belize! We'll see you next winter!

 

We found this awesome and hilarious room in the Ft. Lauderdale airport.

Saturday, April 21, 2018 - Earth Day Festival

After visiting several garage sales with friends we went to a local farmers market.

Cara found gluten free bread - yay!

We went to a free wine tasting at a local liquor store.

We went to downtown Indianapolis for the Earth Day Festival, which had live music, food, activities and lots of exhibitors.

Saturday, April 28, 2018 - Wine Festival with Eric's Mother

We were in southern Indiana working with a client, so on a sunny but cool Saturday afternoon we met Eric's mother, Nancy, 
in nearby Huntingburg for the Garden Gate Jazz, Art, Wine & Craft Beer Festival. It was a lovely afternoon. 

 

 

The festival was right by a stadium where the movie "A League Of Their Own" was filmed.

3-31 to 4-1-2018 Paranda Fest

During the day there was a big party at Ella's Cool Spot, so we checked that out briefly.

Some friends tried this "tonic wine" and promptly threw away their bottle because it tasted like
cough syrup, lol!

We didn't stay too long because we wanted to take naps and save our energy to stay up all night for the main concert.

 

There wasn't as big a crowd this year because of the competing concert at Ella's Cool Spot. Apparently it was mostly the
"older crowd" that wanted to listen to traditional music. Most of the younger people were at the other concert that featured
music you might hear on the radio.

We stayed up all night long until the end.

We found and partied with the mother of Jess Flores, an amazing musician we were lucky enough to know for a couple of
brief years before his early passing.

 

This was our fourth year at this concert, and it was wonderful as always.
