12-28-2019 Windschief Annual Foosball Tournament

It was a small crowd this year, with only three teams playing in the doubles tournament.

There were a few more singles players. This is Oli vs Matt.

Pam vs Mark.

Kendra vs Trevor.

Michael vs Eric.

It was a double elimination and it came down to Eric vs Trevor. All three games were needed for this one, and it came down
to the last ball in each game - a very good match, indeed!

In the end, Eric and Oli won the doubles tournament.

Trevor won the singles tournament.

The three champions!

4-13-2019 Hopkins PTA Fundraiser Chili Cook-off

Windschief Beach Bar hosted a chili cook-off as a fundraiser for the local school, and lots of people turned out for it.

A friend's daughter decided to sell nachos, and that money was also donated to the PTA.

The school principal got things started a little after 6pm.

Eleven people made and donated chili for the event. A $5 donation let you taste all of them and vote for your favorite. The
chili bowls were only numbered to keep things anonymous and fair.

Steve Muscarella donated his time and energy playing music earlier in the evening.

Tallying up the votes - that's when they looked at the names on the bottom of the bowls to see who made each chili.

Kendra came in first place.

Kendra came in first place and won a night tour from Happy Go Luckie Tours.

Wade came in second place and won dinner for two at Rhum Shack.

Janine came in third and won a gift certificate to Cafe Mana.

Cara made a vegan quinoa and black bean chili and actually got 4 votes (she didn't think she
would get any because everyone expects meat). Cara didn't vote or it would have been 5 votes
and a tie for 4th place - not bad.

DJ Amanda ended the evening with great dance music.

4-2-2019 Surprise Birthday Party

Martin's girlfriend, Kendra, planned a nice surprise party for him with lots of friends at Windschief Beach Bar. He is in the
process of building another home, so "Construction Caution" was the theme of the party.

Kendra made lots of cute signs for the party.

Amazingly, everyone was super quiet when Kendra walked Martin up to the bar blindfolded. She had driven him all over the
village to confuse him as to the destination. However, he said he had an idea of where he was going because he recognized
the walk through the sand to the bar that he has done so many times. Lol!

People pitched in with lots of good food, but it was gone before we could get a picture of it.

Birthday cake time!

It's hard to light candles with the wind here, but a sparkler worked just fine.

Martin enjoyed some darts with friends.

3-2-2019 Drinks & Dinner with Danny & Hilary

We met up with Danny and Hilary at Jaguar Reef on one of their last nights in Belize.

We had a quick happy hour drink and walk around the grounds.

Jaguar Reef has some of the most interesting semi-outdoor bathrooms!

After drinks we went to Chef Rob's for a lovely four-course dinner. This is the refreshing salad with starfruit and berries.

Forgot to get a picture of the soup, but this is one of Cara's favorite vegetarian dishes made especially for her. It's Chef
Rob's version of the Indonesian dish Gado-gado (veggies with a peanut sauce) - this one had lots of yummy hearts of palm.

Tiramisu for dessert - delicious!

We missed the actual soup cook-off fundraiser for the local PTA, but we made it to Windschief for some drumming before
calling it a night.
