2-1-2017 Trip to Belmopan and San Ignacio

Since we have to get stamped every month then they add up and they started to fill up our passport book.  So we had to get new ones at the US embassy which is located in Belize's capital, Belmopan.  That area of Belize is quite different and it is near a bunch of cool natural areas and a very, very large Mennonite settlement.  The Mennonites in Belize have been working here since the 50's and have built up a lot during that time.  They hold a very important place in Belize and are a real asset to the country.

We made it to Belmopan, ran a couple of errands, and had time to get a bite to eat before we picked up our passports.  This is
a great Lebanese place and it is nice to get a different style of food for a change.

Cara got the Falafel Plate

It is normal for a business to paste up some inspirational quotes - this was at a Mennonite store.

We booked a night at the Western Guest House in San Ignacio.  This place is clean and nice and cheap and is located right in
the heart of town.  You walk through a Hardware store to get there.

This is what our room looked like - she gave us the larger room for some reason.

We really love TripAdvisor in Belize and we sniffed out the top 5 restaurants in town then we walked around and looked at
them all.  The town is not big.  We settled on the Guava Limb Cafe and we were not disappointed.

The place had a really nice casual vibe.

The special was 2 for 1 of these fancy drinks....so we ordered them.

These are little summer rolls and they were delicious.

These are the summer rolls and we also got some Veggie Wontons.

I am a big fan of these types of tables and chairs
