Serendipity plays largely into our travels. This time we found out through Facebook that our comedian friend Mike Faverman was going to be in Boise, Idaho, which is a natural first stop headed east from Portland, so we made plans to meet up with him Sunday night. We had a great time that night, and met awesome friends of his who invited us to dinner the next evening. So, we stayed another night, checked out downtown Boise (cute), and had a lovely dinner with Mike and his friends (our new friends).

Cara thought this was a wild view. (The semi is actually being towed backwards.) |
We stopped in Boardman, Oregon at the Sage Center, which Ross Farland designed, but it was closed on Sundays. :( |
Hanging out with Mike Faverman at Liquid Lounge (before our dinner at Solid Grill and Bar next door). Same owner - liquid...solid...get it? |
We do love public art, so the "Freak Alley Gallery" was a nice find in downtown Boise, Idaho. |
Freak Alley Gallery continued into the alley - LOVE it! |

Half off drinks during happy hour drew us into the Brickyard and did not disappoint. Cara had
the Idaho Mountain Cosmo, and it was yummy! |
The Brickyard is a beautiful, upscale restaurant and bar. |
