9-23-2014 Salt Lake City, Utah

We arrived in Salt Lake City in the afternoon, and only allotted one day here, so we hurried over to Temple Square, which had been recommended to us to see.  Glad we did - it is gorgeous!  We also walked around downtown, then found a Yelp deal and had a nice dinner at a lovely place called Ichiban Sushi & Japanese Restaurant.

Not knowing anything about Twin Falls, Idaho, we stopped there for lunch and were treated to this view of the Snake River.

The scenic overlook actually went under the bridge so you got a nice view from either direction

This is where we ended up stopping for fuel on the way, and the name fit.

Cara could see "City Creek" on the map.  It turned out to be a beautiful open air mall.

The open air mall went on for several blocks.  This is just the first water feature we saw there.

Hmmm...certainly not a sign we expected to see in downtown Salt Lake City.

Wandering around downtown we happened upon an outdoor swing dancing lesson - very cool!

Ichiban Sushi & Japanese Restaurant was located in a beautiful old church with ivy growing
on the walls, and stained glass galore.  We sat outside, but this is the lovely main dining area.

These "traditional" Japanese dining areas are perfect for private parties.
