Our friends, Will and Leslie, were up for an adventure, so we planned a hike up to Antelope Falls in Mayflower Bocawina National Park. |
It has been rainy recently, so we wondered how wet and muddy the trail would be. |
It turned out to not be bad at all. Leslie even commented how well done the trail was because it shed water quickly. |

Leslie and Will |
Leslie enjoyed the cool water of the swimming pool. It's a fitting reward for the hike because you are always completely covered in sweat by the time you get to the top. |
Will climbed up above the falls and said he found about six other smaller swimming pools going on up the creek. |
It started to rain while we were at the swimming pool, and we decided it was time to head back down anyway. |
Cara got a picture of Will taking a picture of Leslie. |
Normally we see lizards and leaf-cutter ants on the trail, but because it has been rainy we saw toads this time. |
This guy blended in pretty well and Cara only saw him because he moved. |
Mayan ruins on the Antelope Falls trail |
We stopped in for drinks at the restaurant at Bocawina Rainforest Resort & Adventures while it rained, and we decided to go ziplining anyway. |
We checked out the lovely scenery around the restaurant. |
Love the natural planters - palm fronds and coconut shells! |
The rainy day made for a beautiful misty mountain scene as we headed out. |
Will and Eric gearing up |
Eric coming in hot - the wet ropes made us go much faster, which was loads of fun!!! |
Will heading out on a long run |
Will coming in on the longest line (2300 feet) - we all had a great time! |
That night we went to Driftwood Beach Bar & Pizza Shack for dinner. The path to the bathroom was flooded, so we had to walk on beer crates to get there. |
Driftwood makes all kinds of good food (not just pizza) - Eric loved his Fish & Chips. |
